Back on Top - Team Brady Win in Monaco
Monaco – July 28, 2024 – Monaco played host to the fourth round of the UIM E1 World Championships, where Team Brady emerged victorious, solidifying their dominance in the series with a commanding 13-point lead in the championship standings.
The excitement was heightened by the presence of Tom Brady, who was there in person to support the team. Adding to the prestige of the event, H.S.H. Prince Albert II personally handed the winning trophies to Team Brady's Sam and Emma.
Despite the triumphant outcome, it wasn't an easy path to victory for Team Brady, who had to overcome a challenging start after finishing sixth in qualifying.
Tom Brady, Team Owner, said “It’s great to see the team win here in Monaco. The teamwork has been incredible, all weekend we’ve been grinding through different issues but we proved again that we can deal with any conditions. I am so proud of Emma, Sam, the whole team and the resilience that we have. I have full confidence in the team and we’re going to keep fighting. I love our team and I love what we are doing.”
Emma Kimiläinen, Team Brady Pilot said, “To win three out of four races is insane. We’re back in the lead of the Championship and winning here in Monaco is such a special feeling. We were targeting the best result possible this weekend, we were consistent and kept pushing, despite a few knockbacks. Qualifying didn’t go to plan yesterday, but we bounced back, we remained focussed, and we never give up as a team. Having Tom here to support is great, he brings a lot of good energy.”
Sam Coleman, Team Brady Pilot said, “Wow, what a feeling to win here in Monaco, it’s been a whirlwind. I’m so happy we’re back on the top step. To repay all the hard work of the team and the faith that Tom has in us is an incredible feeling. It’s so exciting that we bought the Championship here to the home of motorsport. This weekend was a good points haul and we’ll keep working hard ahead of the next race in Lake Como.”
Ben King, Co-Team Principal said “Another incredible win for the team and having Tom's support makes it even better. We had a few technical issues out there on the water, but we really worked hard as a team and put in some good processes. There was a new race format this weekend which I think everyone adapted well to. We’re now heading into the next race in Lake Como with a 13-point lead which puts us in a strong position and we’ll be looking to capitalise on that.”
Joe Sturdy, Co-Team Principal said “I’m very proud of what we have achieved as a team. After the disappointment of qualifying, it was great to turn it around on race day. We made a few tough calls this weekend on the strategy, and we took some risks in qualifying, which didn’t pay off. We did learn a lot and transferred those learnings across to race day. The changes we made worked perfectly and the conditions were slightly calmer which we tend to be stronger in. The team showed resilience and fought back when things got difficult.”
